Built by forts dating back to the 17th century, Old Quebec is rich in historical monuments and museums.
Upper Town contains the 1800 Citadelle fort, the grand Château Frontenac hotel and Terrasse Dufferin, a wide promenade overlooking the city.
Located on the same site since 1647 and classified as a national historic monument of Canada for its architectural value, the cathedral reflects the history of an entire people. Four governors of New France and the bishops of the Diocese of Quebec rest there, and a funeral chapel is dedicated to François de Laval.
The Dufferin Terrace, a long wooden sidewalk located next to the Château Frontenac, offers a breathtaking view of the St. Lawrence River and its surroundings. It is a wonderful place to visit any time of the year!
